Reviewer qualification: Board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with experience in body contouring and breast surgery.

Panel 2: Postpartum & Wellness Content
Scope: Content related to postpartum body changes, diastasis recti, pelvic floor health, non-surgical alternatives, candidacy considerations, and timing of surgery after childbirth.
Reviewer qualification: Board-certified OB-GYN or licensed physical therapist specializing in postpartum rehabilitation.

What Named Reviewers Will Check
- Medical accuracy — are claims, statistics, and descriptions consistent with current evidence?
- Completeness — are risks and limitations presented alongside benefits?
- Appropriate context — are results framed realistically, without overpromising?
- Terminology — is medical language used correctly and explained for a patient audience?
- Source quality — do cited sources support the specific claims made?
Why there is no “Medically Reviewed” badge
A medically reviewed badge is used on this site only when a real, named physician has reviewed the page. That person is not in place yet, so the badge is not displayed anywhere. What you will see instead:
- A visible last-updated date
- Inline citations to society and peer-reviewed sources
Fact-checking is not medical advice and is not a named clinical review. When a reviewer is appointed, their name, title, institution, and the pages they reviewed will be published on this page first.
Editorial Review Cadence
Medical guidance changes over time, so a one-time fact-check at publication is not enough. Every article on this site is scheduled for editorial re-review at least once per quarter, or sooner if a cited guideline, study, or professional-society position is updated. When a page is rechecked, we update the “Last updated” date visible at the top of the article when the content or sources materially change.
If a reader flags a factual error or an outdated claim, we prioritize re-review of that specific page ahead of the regular schedule — see our correction policy for how to report an issue.
